Although NOT a committee of the Dakota ACAC, the ACT
State Council does work on many of the same issues as DACAC, and its membership
includes many of the same individuals and organizations that also work with
DACAC on its mission of improving the high school to college transition process.
During the past few months, one project of the State
ACT Council has been to promote the taking of the ACT test by all South Dakota
juniors, as a supplement or possible replacement for other state testing
programs. As part of that process the Council requested the ACT National
Office to prepare a a match of the ACT test with the South Dakota State
Standards and that document can be reviewed at

In addition, the Council conducted a survey in early
2008 of South Dakota high school counselors asking for their guidance on the
issue, and a summary of that survey can be viewed by

report.
